About Dane Caro

I have worked in the video game industry since 2007 as a professional developer. When I was younger I spent a lot of time modding games such as the Unreal Tournament series, Baldur’s Gate, or Neverwinter Nights. After years of creating 3D Artwork as a hobby, I decided to try and pursue a career as a 3D Artists. After 5 years of college I graduated with a Bachelor’s in 3D Animation.

Shortly after graduation I got a job for a small company making an online game called Crusades, which was never published. My role at this company was initially a General Artist but later I moved up into the Art Director position. I lead a team of 10+ employees to help develop the look and feel of the game.

I later was hired by Nerjyzed Entertainment as a Technical Artist/Rigger for their game “Black College football: Doug Williams Edition”. There I learned the inner workings of the Unreal Engine and spent a lot of time rigging and animating characters for the game. Then the iPhone came out and changed everything we knew as developers.

After Nerjyzed had some financial issues I decided to learn how to program so I could develop for the mobile market. The iPhone was still new at this time and it seemed an exciting venture, so I dove right in writing a simple puzzle application. Later I moved on to producing several full games on my own, an example of this can be found on my portfolio page under “Political Beatdown: Whack’em”.

Since then I have been working with several companies as either a contract employee, mentor, or as a full time employee to develop fun mobile and pc titles. I’ve listed the most recent titles under my portfolio page but feel free to contact me for a full list of works and my roles in them. A lot of what is currently shown consists of programming work I have done but I do also work in 3D.
